SEASONAL ASSORTMENT KITTING · E-COMMERCE RETAILER

Every bag is a surprise. The mix can't be.

For an e-commerce retailer, RELY sorted and graded mixed collectible stock and built four-piece grab bags to a set value mix, with no duplicate bag combination inside any bulk shipping container.

HOW RELY RAN THE PROGRAM

  1. Sort and grade every itemMixed bulk arrived with an estimated 15 to 20% wrong size or theme (RELY estimate). RELY sorted, catalogued and inventoried it, graded usable pieces, and returned the rest on labeled, inventoried pallets.
  2. Control every combinationEvery bag got a set count of low-, mid- and high-value pieces. No two bags in the same bulk shipping container (gaylord) carried the same combination. Zero customer complaints on bag mix, 325,000+ bags.
  3. Run four assortments side by sideUp to four themed assortments in one release. Each ran on its own work order and shipped as its own line.
  4. Release on the season's schedule12,200 bags in the slowest quarter. 132,685 in the peak quarter, including 120,900 across seven consecutive weekly releases. Volume followed demand, up and down.

Pieces kitted: 4 per bag x 325,707 bags = 1,302,828.

WHAT CAME NEXT
